Google Nest Wifi Pro Points Going Offline

Kagreer

About 4 months ago i upgraded my mesh system to the Google Nest Wifi Pro. This consisted of four Google Nest Wifi Pro points and one google nest wifi pro router. Over the last week at least one or multiple nest wifi pro points will go offline. When testing the mesh system through the google app it states everything is working fine but it shows the the points be off line. I have restarted the points that go offline, which they do come back online but in about three hours they are back offline. I checked my modem and the service coming into my house and there are no issues there. Not sure what is causing this issue, I was wondering if anyone has had this issue or could help.

I don't have a answer 4 you but looking for a similar answer. I have 4 of the pro wifi 6 units. 1 set as the main router and 2 which I have back hauled with physical Ethernet cables throughout my home. The 4th unit is the only one I have wireless connected to the mesh and this is the one that keeps going offline around 4 to 6 times a day. Not sure what the deal is. Hope someone can enlighten us.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help.

A few questions: are the Google Nest Wifi Pro devices still working even when they're showing as offline in the Google Home app? If yes, what's the Google Home app version that you're using? What's your phone model?

Please make sure to install the latest Google Home app version. You may also try to force-close and clear the cache of your app. Change the DNS settings and perform a 2-minute power cycle. Here's how:

  1. Disconnect the power from the modem.
  2. Disconnect the Ethernet cable and power cord from the parent point.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the child points.
  4. Leave everything unplugged for 2 minutes.
  5. Connect the power to the modem, your router and points.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,
Lovely

Hi there,

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps that I suggested? Let me know if that did the trick or not, so we can try something else.

Thanks,
Lovely

@LovelyM thank you for the suggestions but still not working. I do have the latest version of the Google home app as well.

@LovelyM it’s gotten even worse after following the reset instructions you provided. Yesterday all points went offline.

Yesterday approximately 24hrs ago I followed the steps you suggested. I can't provide a attached screenshot here in the chat. I wanted to show the activity log in my home app for the WiFi points. Yesterday prior to the rebooting of the system I had several disconnect events.

So far since the rebooting of the system I have not had any disconnects for the WiFi points. So that is 24hrs of good connection. I will keep tracking for the next few days and report back. I hope it did fix my situation. But it looks like this is not the same outcome for all of us here. So I remain cautiously optimistic.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Let's start from scratch, factory reset your Google Nest Wifi Pro devices and set them up again. Switch the main router that you'll be using with one of the points before. After the configuration, kindly observe your mesh network and let me know if the devices go offline again.

Please share with me the following information: your Internet service provider, your modem's make and model and your network topology.

Looking forward to your responses.

Sincerely,
Lovely

A few questions: are the Google Nest Wifi Pro devices still working even when they're showing as offline in the Google Home app? I have 4 wifi point in my home so the one that keeps going offline has not affected my connection to Internet overall. But I couldn't be sure if I'm still connected to the one that is "offline".

If yes, what's the Google Home app version that you're using? App Version 3.4.1.5

What's your phone model? Google Pixel 6 Pro

I have not yet tried these troubleshooting steps. But will try it today and see if it has any affect. Will report back in a few days.

When ours go out, there is not internet going through the Wi-Fi point. I tested with an Ethernet cable going to a smart tv.

@LovelyM any other ideas by chance?

Update since I rebooted the system. To my surprise now after almost 1 week I have not had any WiFi points go offline at all. I have to be honest I would not have thought that to be a fix but so far so good. I really hope this is permanent. Also hope for those that this did not work I hope you find a solution. It was very annoying.
