There are a lot of folks having the same connectivity issues. There are also various threads on reddit on this - e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleWiFi/comments/q6fsyb/constant_disconnects_on_some_devices/?utm_source...
@User123456 - are you aware of this, and what are you doing about it? Is there a software update coming to resolve this?
04-19-2022 06:26 PM
Software version: 1.54.279716
Software version: 14150.43.80
these are on two diff mesh pucks.
04-19-2022 06:49 PM
I’m seeing 14150.43.80 on all my pucks now.
04-24-2022 12:04 PM
Same, and still dropping every 5 minutes for the past 48 hours. Did the usual factory reset, still drops.
04-24-2022 12:51 PM
Are you on the new firmware, i.e. 14150.43.80?
04-24-2022 12:54 PM
Yes. Unfortunately new firmware did not help my situation. My patience with the issue expired, going to replace with another vendor.
04-26-2022 01:52 PM
I have one on the new firmware, and another puck on 1.54.294928. Why are they on two different versions? Still dropping constantly. Was holding out for new firmware update, but I can't for much longer. Will replace with a non-google product.
04-27-2022 06:27 AM
All 4 of my new pucks on new firmware. Thought was fixed till last couple of days, devices dropping and lost all connectivity last night. I had to reboot all to get back online. Going with another vendor
05-04-2022 01:21 AM
Has there been any update on this? - I started having intermittent WIFI drop outs as well.
05-10-2022 05:39 AM
Can't believe this issue is still haunting me. I am dropping network every 5 minutes. Please advise!

I started to experience instable WiFi connection lately. When it happens I would have very high packet loss and high jitter/latency. The Google WiFi isn't responding fast to ping anymore. I tried many things including a factory reset (which helped for 1-2 days max). Then, even rebooting my Google WiFi won't make stable anymore.
Model: AC-1304
Firmware: 114150.43.81
Note: I didn't changed anything in my network and me Google WiFi were rock solid before the problem appears. I don't have an exact date/time, but based on some research, it seems it may corelate with 14150.43.81 rollout.
05-16-2022 06:20 PM
This information may help other users, while searching for workaround or fixes to my stability issues, I came across a post where someone suggested to disable both preferred activities (video conferencing and gaming).
Since I disabled both, my performances are back to normal. My latency is low, my speed is high and I didn't experienced any disconnect or "slowness". For me, it's not a placebo affect, I really feel the difference.

All I may have a fix for you - if you are using a google wifi behind a gateway in pass through mode make sure the gateway and Google home are not using the same subnet. For example many gateways use 192.168.1.1 as their subnet. Well google wifi uses the same subnet. it may run for awhile if you have the gateway and google wifi using the same subnet but for me at least it has run much more smoothly after I changed the gateway to a different subnet such as 192.168.5.1. I have not had a disconnect since in several weeks.

ZL22,
sorry, but your response is far too complicated for us common folks. does anyone know when google is going to rollout a software fix for this?? it's been over a year and this still hasn't been resolved. does google even care about this and was someone held accountable for this mishap?? can google give us a timeline for the fix rollout?
thanks

Unfortunately I’m back to having issues again. My google wifi is going offline nearly daily around 11:30 pm or so..
08-24-2022 06:46 PM
Hi folks,
Thanks for the response. I'd love to know more about this. What's the light status of your Google Wifi when they go offline? Also, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
Thanks,
Edward

We are returning our Google wifi nest units. I've given up. It shouldn't be this hard to have decent wifi. It was fine when we first got the system. Then at some point, the system got worky. Why can't Google just release a patch to fix this??? U released a patch that screwed it up!

Hi Duckboy,
Thanks for the response. We're sad to see you go. We hope we can make it up to you in the future. We're always here to help if you ever change your mind.

Hi folks,
I understand this has been a frustrating experience. We'll make sure to learn from this and take it as an opportunity to improve.

Hi Edward,
Have you rolled out another firmware update, to resolve the intermittent wifi outages? I’m out of town for another 2 weeks, so I cannot test the system right now, but shortly before I left home I still saw this issue.
FYI, here is the info copied a minute ago from our Google Home app:
WAN IP: 192.168.1.86
LAN IP: 192.168.86.1
Model: AC-1304
Software version: 14150.43.81
(Main google router is connected to our AT&T Fiber modem)
Thanks,
Herman

Hi hpmhugo,
There actually is a new firmware release that's rolling out now and over the next 2-3 weeks. The version you posted is the current version (not the latest one coming out), so it looks like it hasn't landed on your device yet. You won't need to do anything to get the update, it will download and install automatically when ready. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff
Is the new firmware update targeted at addressing this specific issue, or other issues?
09-08-2022 09:08 AM
Hi Duckboy,
The update actually targets a few different issues. The full release notes haven't come out yet, but the update will target several different needs. I'll update here when I have more specific information on the firmware update.
Thanks,
Jeff

@Jeff, thanks for the help
I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Hi Mel,
It seems I’m still on the 14150.43.81 firmware. I will be home in a week from now, and will be able to evaluate the system at that time.
Please keep this thread open for another few weeks, so that the various folks can have time to confirm whether the issues are resolved.
Thanks!
Herman

The issue hasn't been resolved yet. We're still in need of help until the new firmware update has been rolled out and confirmed to solve the issue. If it doesn't solve the issue, we'll be in need of help until a future firmware update solves the issue.
09-13-2022 12:44 PM
Hi everyone,
Your Google Wifi will automatically receive over-the-air updates about any software and hardware-related fix or firmware updates as long as it's constantly powered on and connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Cheers,
Mel

Hello, it's me, within the 24 hours. 🙄
I still have the issue described in this thread. I tried all of the suggested solutions in this thread. None of the suggested solutions worked. Therefore we still need help. Please take a closer look and assist us further.

Hey Mel,
I’m still on Software version: 14150.43.81, so please keep this open until everyone has been updated to the new software version.
BTW, Mel - what is the new firmware version that we should see in our system?
09-19-2022 01:02 PM
Hey everyone,
Thanks for getting back to us.
@SpottedQuoll, thanks for doing the suggested steps.
@hpmhugo, we appreciate your patience. We do not have any news to share what the exact firmware version will be.
The update is rolling out now. It goes out in waves to devices and everyone will have it within the next 1-2 weeks. It really could land any day, and you won't need to do anything to receive the update, it will download and install automatically for you. If you have other questions, let me know.
Thanks,
Mel

13 days to go. If the update doesn't arrive, you've got some explaining to do.
