Guest network: can't cast/stream to dots

It seems you cannot cast or stream to the WiFi dots/speakers from the Guest Network. I looked at the Guest Network sharing settings but I don't see the Nest dots listed.

It works just fine from the main network.

Is this a limitation or do I have to put the Nest dots in "guest mode" through the Google Assistant first? That would be very odd UX given that I turned off personalized results and the microphones on the dots

Or is there another way for Guest Network users to stream music to the dot speakers?

There is no way to achieve this currently, it seems. Put in a different way, the problem here is that the Nest Wifi add-on points can't be selected as "shared device" for the guest Wi-Fi network.

Best thing you can do is to provide this as feedback in the Google Home app.

• Google Home app -> Wi-Fi (icon) -> Three dots menu -> Feedback.

I'll add it as a feature request in a Google Sheet spreadsheet we PEs have access to. After that I have no influence on further process. Based on my previous experience with feature requests: Don't expect it to be implemented anytime soon, if ever.

Somewhat related: I've also requested a feature request board where we consumers can vote on feature requests. Would be mutually benefitial I think. The Nest community admins say they are looking into it, but currently no such solution exist.

I just wanted to add that at some point I was able to stream/cast to the Nest WiFi points while connected to the Guest network. It works reliably now, so maybe when I posted there was a general WiFi issue. I also couldn't find documentation that it's not supposed to work on the Guest network, so I am guessing that maybe it was a fluke at the time I posted the issue.
