Had to turn on ipv6 to make mesh work - why?

Recently setup a nest router and point. They were 6 feet apart and still the home app said the mesh link was weak. I went into advanced settings and turned on ipv6 and everything was then great. Nest and link are now 75 feet apart and working great. Why would this make a difference? Just curious.

Hi MarkNY,

Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is an advanced networking standard that allows devices to use a much larger number of unique IP addresses than in the older standard (IPv4). To read more about the additional benefits of IPv6, you can check this article.
