Hardwire unmanged switch will not connect to Nest router

I am not a techie guy so please bear with me, I tried to follow some of the posts on the hardwire issues, but they are not exactly my issue. I installed the Gen 2 Nest router with four points (router +3) and needed extra LAN ports, so I am adding an NETGEAR unmanaged FS 105v3 5 port 10/100 fast ethernet unmanaged switch, but after plugging in all my three devices to the switch and hardwired to the LAN Nest router it does not work. All the green lights on the switch tell me everything is working properly but everything connected to the switch does not work. I was blaming the switch, but I decided to connect my computer straight the router and that did not work either. Is there something in the Google Home APP setting for the router I am missing? Or?

Thank you for your help

I understand that you are having trouble connecting an unmanaged switch to your Nest router. Here are a few things you can check:

  1. Make sure that the switch is plugged into a power outlet and that the power light is on.
  2. Make sure that the cables connecting the switch to the router and the devices are properly inserted.
  3. Try connecting a different device to the switch to see if that works.
  4. If you are still having trouble, try resetting the switch to factory defaults. To do this, locate the reset button on the back of the switch and press and hold it for about 10 seconds.

If you have tried all of these things and you are still having trouble, then the problem may be with the switch itself. You can try contacting the manufacturer of the switch for support.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  • Unmanaged switches do not support routing, so you cannot connect your modem directly to the switch. You must connect the modem to the router first, and then connect the switch to the router.
  • The Nest router supports up to 200 devices. If you have more than 200 devices connected to the network, you may experience performance issues.
  • If you are still having trouble, you can try contacting Google Nest support for help.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
