Issues connecting to certain apps and websites? It's Weird!!

Hello,

I hope everyone is doing well. About a week ago, I have been having network issues I have never seen before. Like my Ring app sometimes does fully load on my phone, also my garage door, and GMC truck app frequently won't work and I have to restart the app and then sometimes it will load up. However if I am on the cellular network or at my work wifi the apps respond and open just fine. I also have Apple TV 4k and same issue with Twitch app, also my laptop certain websites I have to refresh them to load. I then connected to my AT&T router/ modem wifi and everything started to load normally on all 3 devices. I had the Nest Wifi for a couple of years and never had this issue, does anyone know what it could be?

I have done a restart on the Nest Wifi but have not done a factory reset yet.

Turn off the IPV6 setting in advanced settings section.

This should fix the issue.

Thanks for the reply, but IPV6 was off.

This is the answer I got from them for a fix on my Nest Wifi. It seems to have improved some but some devices are still.not connecting to my system as normal

"Understood. You might want to try adjusting the DNS settings of your Nest Wifi network using the Google Home app and see if it helps. Here's how:

1. Open the Google Home app.

2. Tap the Wifi coin and then Settings (gear icon) and then Advanced Networking.

3. Tap DNS.

4. Select Custom and enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

5. Tap Save.

If your ISP supports IPv6, you can use these settings: 2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844 Once done, toggle Nest Wifi cloud services off then turn it back on after 10 seconds. Here's how:

1. Open the Google Home app.

2. Tap Wi-Fi and then Settings.

3. Tap Privacy Settings.

4. Toggle Nest Wifi cloud services on or off, then tap Save. Make sure to reboot your Nest Wifi router and modem for 2 minutes to refresh the connection.

did this correct your issues?

So far so good. The only thing I changed was the DNS. I did not mess with the IPv6. I tested the apps and so far so good, thanks again 🙂
