Laptop buffering

I just purchased the Nest and one Point. My laptop is buffering on simple Google queries. I'm sitting in front of the router and it says Great Connection. I've tried rebooting the modem and router and also setting the laptop as Priority. It's really frustrating, my old TP-link worked much better.

Hi, WendyL.

I'm sorry to hear about your connection speeds. That sounds like a real frustrating situation. Let's take a look and see what we can do to get things working for you.

To start narrowing things down, I do have a few questions for you.

  • Was the connection speed slow right from the beginning, or did it slow down after some use?
  • Is the laptop the only device that is slow on the network, or are other devices slow as well?
  • How close to each other are your router and point? When you go into the device list and select your laptop, does it say what it's connected to, such as the point or the router?

If you can let me know just a bit more, I'm sure we can figure out what's going on and resolve it. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks.

I restarted my laptop and it solved the issues. Should have done that first! Thanks for checking back.
