Hi, I have a Goodwe solar panel inverter that will only operate on a 2.4ghz connection with my google nest router. Is there a way to stop it from jumping into the 5ghz connection as my inverter keeps going offline? Thanks for any help

No, there isn't. Here is info on how Nest Wifi combines all bands to one SSID:
The only workaround to always have a 2.4ghz only SSID/wireless network is to either add an additional access point to your system connected to the LAN port of the main Nest Wifi unit: This could be a cheap access point like Asus EA-N66 (an old unit, I know, it's just an example from the top of my head 🙂 ), or a used router that can be put in access point only mode to avoid double NAT. Or replace Nest Wifi with a home wifi system that can do 2.4ghz only SSIDs.

Many thanks for your reply Olavrb, I’m going to look into that. I just found an earlier post from a couple of years ago suggesting to create a guest network on the google nest, as guest networks only use 2.4ghz. I don’t know if this is true but I’m going to look at that as well. Thanks again👍🙏

Guest network is the same, not 2.4ghz only, so it's not true unfortunately.

Ok, thanks loads for your guidance. I’m going to try and get hold of a 2.4ghz only router and connect that.
