Multiple Networks

Hi All please help. Sorry if a similar post has been made.
I have a home office in my backyard that is too far from the main house for the mesh network to carry. I have a multi ethernet port router in the house and have piggybacked the home network off this and it seems to work fine. I have then run a Cat6 cable from ethernet port 2 to the office. This works hardwired into my laptop but I don't have a Wi-Fi network. I have bought a second Google router, created a new home [Fortress of Solitude F.o.S]. The creation process seems to work and the Google home app shows the second home with the router in it but I cannot find the Wi-Fi network when I search on my devices. When I run a test, I get a message that this failed. The laptop however seems to have good ethernet connection even though it is hardwired through Router2.
 What have I done wrong?

What router is the "router", and how have you set it up? Is it in bridge mode?

This is essentially double NAT, as a main/primary Google Router unit in a Google Home network will act as a router too.

I'd rather remove the "router", make Google Router 1 the main/primary unit, then from its' LAN port take an ethernet cable to the office, connect it to Google Router 2 WAN port, and have "wired backhaul". Single Google Home home. Single network.

About wired backhaul:

If you want more ethernet ports on a Google Router unit, add an unmanaged switch:

I don't work for Google.
