Need API to reboot Google Nest Wifi

I have a google nest wifi router in my Google Home app and I can reboot it from there when it degrades and slows down my network.  But I shouldn't have to.

I have a computer on my network that tests and records speedtest data regularly.  And I would like to set that computer up to control my google nest wifi router, causing it to reboot when it's slowing down.

What is the API endpoint to do that?

There's no official public info on API and endpoints, but here are some sources for more information:

And the unifficial Google Wifi Desktop app the developer gave up some time ago.

I don't work for Google.

Thank you olavrb.  I have to say, that's actually a way more thorough answer than I expected here!

I don't own my google wifi devices.  They're on lease from Google Fiber, so I don't want to open or flash them as tempting as it may be.

I might just get a PoE adapter for it and power it via my network switch so I can no power inline and power inline it to reboot it.  Or I might finally get off my lazy but and just remove the thing and connect the fiber jack directly to my own hardware.  But it is nice to have an "outside" wifi network I can quickly hop on for testing though....
