Nest Router unable to obtain IP address from Modem

I am having the EXACT same problem as V0tron in this thread:

My Google Nest worked fine for a over year but I’ve recently had issues with my internet. Thinking it was my ISP, I had a technician come out and checked everything. He replaced a filter.  I also purchased a new Motorola MB8611 I just bought.

Everything works JUST FINE with my laptop plugged into the modem.

Same as the original poster - after the tech left I tried setting up my Google Nest.  It will not work.  It indicates a connection issue. I spoke to 3 different online support techs from Google that just had me doing the same things over and over.  I have factory reset the modem and the router a dozen times this morning.  My Google Nest router that was working fine with my NetGear CM2000 two days ago will NOT communicate with my new modem.

Help!

Hi blemoine,

Thanks for posting. This is not the experience we'd like you to have. Could you provide the case ID number of your interaction with our Google support so I can check for you? We'll wait for your update.

Best,
Abi

Thanks for checking in. After multiple diagnostics - including putting in another router, which came right up - I concluded my router was bricked. I went to Best Buy and bought another, and it came right up.

Hello blemoine,

Thanks for doing the troubleshooting steps and updating us about the result. As we got our resolution here, I'm going to mark this thread as resolved. I'll be locking this thread if we won't hear back from you in 24 hrs. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.
