I purchased the Google Nest WiFi Pro to extend the range on my T-Mobile Home Internet, as it was the recommended mesh system by T-Mobile.
In the same room as the router, I get 1/2 to 1/4 the speed through the Nest Pro that I receive from the T-Mobile router. I’ve attempted hiding the T-Mobile SSID, rebooted everything and still no change, speed is awful!
Even trying the connection on the patio outside the home, the T-Mobile router offers higher speed than the mesh system when one of the Nest AP’s is located in the window directly by the patio and very next room (no walls between) to the router.
How do I get the speed from the mesh system that is at least very close to the router speed?

Hi Milneros,
That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have, and we apologize for the delay. A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? Which Google/Nest router are we working with? What device are you using to set up your network (iOS or Android)? Do you have the Internet on your modem?
You can do a sequential reboot of your entire network and see if that helps, or please perform a 2-minute power cycle on your entire network to re-establish the connection on your connected devices. Here's how:
Also, you can give these steps a try:
You may skip any step that you’ve done already.
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Dan

Thank you for the reply. To answer your questions:
I am using a modem/router combo from T-Mobile Home Internet (that’s all they offer)
As noted in my original message, I’m using the Nest WiFi Pro (3-pack)
I am using iOS
I do have internet
IPv6 is turned off
I have attempted factory reset
The T-Mobile Home internet Modem/Router has very few changeable options. You cannot change it to Bridge mode. I can however hide the network ID. I have tried hiding the network, but there is no change in speed on the Nest WiFi Pro points.
I have attempted all the reboot procedures, but again, no change, speed on the Nest WiFi Pro points are still 25% - 30% of the speed I achieve on the T-Mobile network. For example, my T-Mobile modem/router is in my living room and I have a Nest WiFi Pro access point in my bedroom. The rooms are separated by one common wall and the bedroom door is open. I receive a download speed of 120Mbps on the Nest AP, and 507Mbps from the T-Mobile Home Modem/Router.
Only thing I have not attempted from your suggestions is changing DNS servers, which I will attempt in the next couple of days.

Hello Milneros,
Sounds like a plan. I’ll be expecting to hear from you in a few days and hopefully with good news. Our thoughts are with you!
Cheers,
Dan

Changing the DNS servers seems to have increased my Nest WiFi pro speed to about 75% - 85% of speed I achieve directly from the TMobile Home Internet Modem/Router, at least for now. I will continue to monitor to see if it becomes constant.
