Nest WiFi Pro stuck on WiFi 4

I recently just purchased a Nest WIFI pro  2 pack. I have a compatible WIFI 6 motherboard (not 6e) it is the it has the built in Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MH WIFI network card. I consider myself pretty computer savey, but for the life of me I cannot get this thing to connect with the 5Ghz WIFI 6 (ax protocol) it reverts to WIFI 4 (n protocol). If I connect to 2.4Ghz I get WIFI 6 (ax protocol) but at much lower speeds. I have my computer about 10 feet away from the router. I cannot find any way to force this WIFI router to give me the top of the line signal I deserve! I have enabled the 160 Mhz channel and that didn't work either on or off. I have forced my computer to prefer a 5ghz signal and have it set to even use ax protocol but cannot get anything to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @captainkrk,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I'm sorry to hear that you are not able to connect to WiFi 6 in your Nest Wifi Pro; I’ll be more than happy to assist you.

Before we continue, I have some questions:

  • Does your internet provider support 160 MHz channels?
  • Is your router connected to an optical fiber connection?

In the meantime you can take a look at the following article: Benefits of Wi-Fi 6E with Nest Wifi Pro.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Derick
