I ran a speed test on my hard wire comptuer and got 660mbps speed. When I ran the same test using the same online web site, Spectrum, the speed was 75nbos hold my phone and ipad right next to the wired google wifi router.

I went to troubleshooting on the google nest wifi support site on my ipad and my android phone and it stopped on 8% and it said error loading workflow please try latter.

I have 2 points in my mech google wifi system, but that should not matter, as I am only inches from the router thqt is plugged directly into the wifi cord. Now the cord it about 25 long, but going from 665 to 75mbps seems like there must be somthing wrong and it is very odd that I cannot run the troubleshooting test on both my ipad and android 5g phone.

Should I call google wif fi?  Please advise

It seems to me that the goog

I contact support and they did not know why I cannot get the tranmission of over 100mbps

I also looked a perferred activities, and there was nothing checked.

Does anyone know what the issue is?

Is there anyone that knows why the google wifi is throualing down from 650 to 100.  Paused all by one devise to test. So not the devices. I did what support said to do.

Google support was NO help at all.

Please let me know. I hate to toss the Google WIFI routers - what a waste it would be.

Hi @norwood451,

Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Nest Wifi only providing 75 Mbps instead of 600 Mbps; don't worry, help is here.

To assist you better, I have some questions:

Do you have a Nest Wifi or Nest Wifi Pro?

How many devices do you have connected to the same network?

Are the devices connected to the Google Wifi using the 2.4 or 5G band?

Have you tried to do a factory reset on the Nest Wifi?

I’ll be waiting for your reply.

Regards,

Derick.

Do you have a Nest Wifi or Nest Wifi Pro?  Google WiFi

How many devices do you have connected to the same network? 17, but most are idle and I turned them off and got the same results.

Are the devices connected to the Google Wifi using the 2.4 or 5G band? The modem is 2.4 from spectrum.

Have you tried to do a factory reset on the Nest Wifi? Yes and I ever tried to switch out the unites. From that main to the mesh, making the mesh point the main point.

I do get just under 400mbps on my ipad, so it is partly due to my other devices--phone. However, the Ipad shoiuld get closer to 600.

Tech from Spectum said it was a compo between my devices and Google WIFI.

Hey there!

Thank you for your reply. Here are some reasons that make your internet speed slow:

  1. Your device is far from your Wi-Fi router or point(s). Often, moving your device closer to your router or point will result in improved speeds.
  2. Building materials and other objects located between your router and Wi-Fi points or between your Wi-Fi points and mobile devices may slow your connection. If possible, try to use your device within a clear line of sight to your router or point.
  3. The internet speed from your provider may be currently slower than expected. Test your internet speeds. If the results are less than you expected, contact your ISP.
  4. Devices connected on the 2.4 GHz channel may not achieve speeds as fast as the 5 GHz channel.
  5. Some devices do not support the faster Wi-Fi standards. Speed is dependent on both the router or point and the device that is connected to it. If you have an older device, it’s likely it won’t support the latest standards for the fastest speeds.
  6. There could be signal interference due to traffic on your Wi-Fi network, on your neighbors' Wi-Fi networks, or from other sources like microwaves or baby monitors.
  7. Wi-Fi systems from Google Nest including Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, and Google Wifi are designed for personal home use and aren't intended to be used for sharing networks across multiple dwellings. Using Wi-Fi devices in this manner can cause slower Wi-Fi speeds and unreliable connections.

For additional troubleshooting, you can take a look at the following articles: Troubleshoot slow internet on Google Nest Wifi or Google Wifi, Internet speed test guide: Improve your internet connection with the Google Home ap

Thank you for the resonse.

I do think do it is a combo issue between my phone, and laptops, but I am confused why my ipad only gets 400mbps.   I think I need all new phones and computers to be able to test to be sure what ths issue is, but that is kind of an expensive thing to do.  My phone is a 5g, so it supprises that my phone is not fast on the wifi.   You have to wonder why Motorlia did not put a better WIFI radio in a 5g phone.

Hi there!

Thank you for replying. It could be a combo issue, but we can try something else. We can try changing the priority to the device that you want to have more internet speed. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites > Wifi.
  3. Tap Devices > select the device you want to prioritize > Tap prioritize device.
  4. At the bottom, select how long you want to prioritize that device.
  5. Tap Save.

You can also take a look at the following articles: Prioritize a device on your Wi-Fi network. Set preferred activities to improve Wi-Fi performance.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Derick

Thanx for the suggestion.

I did that with my phone and got 287 mps. which supprised me and good to know I can do that, but that is still very solw considering I get 655mbps from my hard wired computer.

I also did that with my ipad and got 358mbps, which is the same as when it is not prioritized. Go figure.

The spectrum tech said he got 655mbps on his phone, so I guess it is my devices that all need to be upgraded, which would be an expensive experment 🙂

Hi there!

Thank you for replying. That could be the reason why you can't reach the full internet speed your router provides. Some devices are out of the minimum requirements to run a very fast internet connection.

Keep me posted.

Derick.
