Nest WiFi point doesn’t have 8-digit code needed to rejoin Google Home mesh network

We have an existing google WiFi mesh set up, and one of our Nest WiFi points is having trouble rejoining after having been factory-restarted. The google home app asks for the 8-digit code on the bottom of the point to join the mesh, but it doesn’t have one.  Therefore it can’t rejoin the mesh network, even though it used to be part of it.  Thanks for any assistance or advice!

Does the bottom not look like this, with a code engraved into the rubber/silicone bottom pad?
