Nest Wifi - How can I permanently prioritize wifi access to certain devices in my network? I see an option for a Max 8hrs. Does it mean I need to do it everyday?

Hello @hvoldman

Unfortunately, there is no way to permanently prioritize a device. There are some automatic prioritization rules for some applications, and it does some automatic buffer bloat mitigation. The manual prioritization is more of a blunt instrument. If you think it would solve a problem that the other mechanisms don't, please use the feedback feature in the Google Home app to let the engineering team know what you'd like to see.

Hi, everyone.
Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Hi, hvoldman.

There is no option to prioritize a device for longer than 8 hours at a time. As of now, I have not heard of any plans to be able to make a device permanently prioritized, but it is something I can pass along to our internal teams as a suggestion for a feature update. Preferred activities are the closest to making a permanent decision for priorities, but that is on the activity level, not on the device level.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks.

Hey, everyone.
It looks like we've slowed down here again. We'll be closing up the thread unless anyone else has any input or needs anything else. If so, just let me know and we can keep this open a bit longer.
Thanks.

Hi, everyone.
As we haven't had any activity here recently I'm going to go ahead and close the thread. If you have more to add, feel free to start a new discussion.
