Nest Wifi Pro Wifi and Lan Speeds

I cant get my wifi speeds close to my ISP service tier. I have 1 gig Service from Spectrum. When I plugged my comp into the modem directly I was getting 1.2Gbps  on my mac. When I factory reset the router and then plugged in the ethernet into the LAN port from the Nest Wifi pro I am getting 6Mbps. The most I can get out of Wifi is 300-400 Mbps even right next to the router and on 6E. Any Solutions here? I have reset the network and router multiple times. Using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for DNS servers. Using Cat8 cables too for all my connections. Same results with Cat6a cables and the Nest provided cables.

There does seem to be a specific problem affecting those who use Spectrum. Some users have resolved issues by:

  • Restarting the Spectrum modem
  • Asking Spectrum to reprovision the modem
  • Factory resetting the Spectrum modem
  • Factory resetting their Nest Wifi router
  • Temporarily connecting their Nest Wifi router to a different internet connection

I did all that, Even got a new DOCSIS 3.1 modem and had spectrum retrovision it, but it didn't help. Speed directly out of the modem to the back of my computer was 1.2Gbps, so its within the Nest router.

Then you're welcome to contact the Google Nest support team directly and discuss other possible options and next steps. You can do that by following these steps:

  1. Go to Contact Us - Google Nest Help
  2. Select an appropriate product or category, type a brief description of the issue, then click Next.
  3. Click Other, then click Next step.
  4. In the Resources section, click Next step.
  5. Choose to get a phone call, call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

The speeds on the Nest WiFi Pro have always been poor compared to other mesh systems. Google are too quick to blame ISP's despite its this product that's the let down.
