Nest Wifi Pro keeps disconnecting every day

I just purchased a 3 pack Nest Wifi Pro replacing my previous Google Wifi around 2 days back. Every day it keeps getting disconnected at least 3 to 4times. I had the same issue with the previous version of Google Wifi. I thought the latest version will not have the issue. I work from home and all my work calls gets disconnected several times a day.

Hi chnbswamy,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry that you are having issues with your Nest Wifi Pro going offline. Don't worry, I'm here to help! Let's take a look and see what's going on.

Before we get started with further details, let me ask you some important questions:

  1. How often does it happen?
  2. How long does the disconnection last?
  3. Are there any error messages on the Google Home app or the Nest Wifi Pro devices?
  4. Are all devices connected to the network experiencing disconnections?
  5. What is the color of the LED light indicator?

Potential Causes and Solutions:

  • Hardware Issues:
    • Placement: Ensure your Nest Wifi Pro points are placed optimally to minimize obstructions and maximize Wi-Fi coverage.
    • Power Supply: Verify that all devices are receiving adequate power.
  • Network Interference:
    • Other Wi-Fi Networks: Identify and avoid overlapping Wi-Fi channels from neighboring networks.
    • Electronic Devices: Move your Nest Wifi Pro away from potential interference sources like cordless phones, microwaves, or baby monitors.
  • Software Issues:
    • Restart Wifi devices: Turn off your Wi-Fi router for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on and wait for it to fully boot up. This can sometimes resolve network connectivity issues that might be causing the problem.
    • Update Firmware: Ensure your Nest Wifi Pro system is running the latest firmware.
    • Factory Reset - Last Resort: If none of the above solutions work, consider resetting your Google Nest Wifi network to factory settings. This will erase all custom settings and network configurations. Note: Only perform a factory reset if you're comfortable re-configuring your network afterwards.

Additional Considerations:

  • Internet Service Provider: If the cutoffs persist even after troubleshooting your Google Nest Wifi, consider contacting your internet service provider (ISP) to ensure there aren't any issues with their service affecting your overall internet speed.

Please check the following articles for Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, or Google Wifi network not working and to know more about Wifi device light meanings: Understanding LED indicators.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Mario

hi There, How can I check the firmware is unto date?

I'm having the same issue where it connects after reboot the modem and them routers but only lasts half a day or a couple hrs.

Thanks,

Hi there!

That’s a good question. Let me help you by teaching you how to  check the firmware.
To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  3. At the top right, tap SettingsDevice information.

Under "Technical information," find firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.

if you want to check it better you can take a look on at Find your device's firmware version.

Hope this helps!
Brandon.
