Nest Wifi goes down every time I try to start a guest network

Everything on my Nest Wifi has been fine for at least a year, then this bug started this week.  Once I turn on Guest Network, then I cannot connect to either wifi signals.  You can see both wifi signals, but you can NOT connect to either one.  Then once I turn off Guest Network, then the Primary Network wifi signal works fine.  However, I really need the Guest Network to work.

Does anybody know a fix? I have Spectrum Modem ET2251.

I tried to hook up a spare Google Nest Router to my modem and the exact same issue occurred. The confirms it's NOT my Google Nest router. It's the software.

Hi stanlam,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with setting up your guest network. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What's the firmware version of your Google Wifi?
  • Is your Google Wifi not broadcasting the SSID when the guest network is on?
  • Are there any changes on your network before this started?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

thank you Edward.  Here is my response to your questions:

  • What's the firmware version of your Google Wifi?  14150.43.81
  • Is your Google Wifi not broadcasting the SSID when the guest network is on?  WHEN THE GUEST NETWORK IS ON, IT ACTUALLY BROADCAST BOTH SSID.  HOWEVER, YOU CAN NOT CONNECT TO EITHER ONE.  THEN ONCE YOU TURN OFF THE GUEST NETWORK, YOU CAN CONNECT TO THE REGULAR SSID AGAIN.  BTW - I'M USING AN ANDROID PHONE TO TURN ON THE GUEST NETWORK.  IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, I TRIED TO TURN ON THE GUEST NETWORK WITH AN IPHONE, BUT IT WON'T EVEN TURN ON AT ALL.
  • Are there any changes on your network before this started?  THERE WERE NO CHANGES AT ALL.  I ALSO DID A HARD REBOOT TWICE AND IT STILL DIDN'T WORK.
