Nest Wifi issues with points

AlexisOJ

Hi hoping for assistance with trouble shooting... We have moved and I had to set up Nest Wifi router and 2 points on a new network. No issues with setting up router but can't add points. So far I've tried:

- Uninstall reinstall home app

- Factory reset

- Unplug all points and router and attempted process all over again

- Checked local services are on

Still can't add devices I've basically exhausted all trouble shooting options available online. Points have power and lights indicate they are ready for set up. They ask me to "Please log in through the google home app".

Help!!??

Hi AlexisOJ,

That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have, and we apologize for the delay. A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? When you did the factory reset, was it the same steps as what you see in this link? Have you tried the steps provided by jaguar2010? If in case you haven’t yet, here are the steps from the link above:

  1. When you get "Something went wrong" on your phone when adding a point to the Wi-Fi network, leave the setup.
  2. Go to "Network Settings" and restart the entire network.
  3. Once devices are back up, go to the devices tab at the bottom of the Google Home app. You will see your point under a heading called "Local", Click on it, and it will take you to a setup screen where you can successfully add it to the network.
  4. Run a mesh test to confirm that the network is set up properly.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Dan

Thanks Dan I have tried the steps in the link you provided already as well as those advised by jaguar. Neither worked. I can see both points under the local devices but attempts to set up them up fail as when I get to the mesh test section I get a notice saying check my Bluetooth and internet connections and that mesh has failed.

I have perfect internet connection through the modem and nest wifi router, the points are also showing as great connection when I check them. I have tried going via the main modem and wifi for nest router neither works.

The points keep telling to log in to the Google home app. It's all super frustrating.

I have factory reset uninstaller and reinstalled home app a number of times now. It was so easy to set up the first time and is driving me crazy that I can't figure out the issue.
