Nest wifi pro - Gaming with ps5 it's impossible, the same with videocall

I was really happy with my google wifi. After installing fiber I decided to buy the new nest wifi pro. The connection works well and the speed is great.... The problem is that if I try to play playstation 5 online the thing is impossible. The connection lags all the time and the playstation shows the unstable connection symbol. Same things with videocall like zoom or google meet. I have changed the dns, reset the network several times, tried ipv6 and not, removed the favorite activities... I don't know what to do anymore. Should I make a return to amazon? I have the main router that is connected to the isp modem, then to the router I connected a switch that connects the other two satellites via backhaul. With google wifi I had no problem, now instead of improving I have an unstable connection. Until recently, before the last reset the connection often collapsed just and I solved only by rebooting the network.

PLEASE HELP ME

Hello FiorenzoDV,

Thanks for posting. I’m sorry to hear about your issue and I’d like to help out. Please try the steps below:

  1. Open your Google Home app.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi > Settings > Preferred activities.
  3. Uncheck 'Video Conferencing' and anything else that’s currently checked.
  4. After that, restart your entire network.

To restart your network:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Wifi > Settings > Restart network.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Abi

Hey there,

Thanks for the update.

A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? How many devices are dropping from the network? Also, do you have any paused devices?

Give these steps a try:

  • If you're using a modem/router combo, set that to bridge mode to avoid double NAT issues.
  • Make sure that there is minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.) and the points are no more than two rooms apart.
  • Remove any special characters in your network name and password.
  • Turn off IPv6.
  • Change your DNS server into 8.8.8.8 on the primary and 8.8.4.4 on the secondary server. Hit the save/ floppy disk icon on the upper right.
  • Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.
  • If the issue persists, try factory resetting your network. Take note that this will delete all network data.
  • You may skip the steps that you’ve done already.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,
Abi
