I have read many of the earlier posts highlighting difficulty in setting up smart home devices which only use 2.4ghz band with the nest wifi pro. I use a pixel 7. There is no way to force either to use only the 2.4ghz band and so all my home devices can no longer connect via my Google home app or the device apps as I cannot reliably move to a 2.4ghz band. Even when moving away from the wifi points the Android device moves across different frequencies as the signal fluctuates so you cannot reliably sit on the 2.4ghz band. I have just changed from a triband Linksys mesh wifi system and had no issue with that. Given the ubiquity of smart devices that only operate on 2.4ghz this is a really disappointing situation and the workarounds using old devices, different access points, creating hotspots with replica wifi ssids etc should be unnecessary.

Hi Mark32,
We apologize for the inconvenience. Google Nest Wifi Pro uses "band steering" technology which automatically attempts to connect devices to the band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) that offers the best performance. Rest assured that we heard you and our team are working hard to deliver the best experience for our users; we'll take this as feedback. Keep your eye on the Google Nest Community page at https://goo.gle/2JvnMRy for any updates. Please let us know if you have other questions or concerns. We're here to help.
Check out this link on how to file feedback.
Kind regards,
Dan
