Hello, was hoping someone might be able to provide some insight on something that's started happening.
I have a Nest Wifi router with two Google Wifi points that I've been using for a few years with little issue. Within the last few days however I've had something odd happen twice which I'm still currently experiencing.
The first issue occurred on Monday afternoon while a video on my Nvidia Shield TV Pro. The video froze and shortly after I noticed my Pixel 10 Pro XL had switched to mobile service instead of the wifi network. My Pixel Tablet showed it was still connected to the network but that there was no Internet. Oddly enough, my Google Nest Mini still responded to commands.
I tried a full system restart through the app and was unclear if it actually restarted. So I tried a full physical restart by unplugging the three devices, waiting five minutes and plugging them in one-by-one with the router first. Still the same issue after I'd given them all a chance to start back up.
I called my ISP and they said they'd have someone come look at it. When he showed up he went to look at the physical connection outside. By the time he came back to the door I pointed out that it was showing on my tablet that the network had a full connection again. We tested a few sites to see if they loaded and sure enough they did. When I asked him what he'd done to fix it he said he hadn't actually done anything.
Fast forward to this morning. When I woke up I noticed my phone had switched to the mobile network again. Similarly none of my other devices were connecting to the Internet. That is, except for my smart speakers because somehow they are able turn on the TV, my lights, etc and answer questions that it should not be able to if the Internet were actually down.
I have a call into my ISP but the fact that some of my devices are connecting to the Internet but others won't when connected to the same network tells me this is likely an issue with my mesh network but I'm not even sure how to start troubleshooting this. Would a full reset of my mesh network devices be the next step? Thanks!

I'm actually experiencing the same thing. I'm on a mesh network with 3x Gen 1 Google Wifi devices. The network test on the router device is great at 500 up/500 down and when I'm close to that device, I get those speeds on my connected devices, but when I'm close to the bridge devices, the speed drops to between 0-30 Mbps up/down. No amount of moving the bridge units to good or great locations as shown on mesh test consistently improves the throughput. This is after years of solid coverage and not moving the devices. I believe a firmware update must have pushed that ruined the Gen 1s.
