Replacing Spectrum router with Google Nest

I replaced the Spectrum supplied modem at my parent's house with an Arris Surfboard SB6190. I contacted Spectrum and they asked for the MAC number for the new device, added it and wifi was up. I then tried to replace their Spectrum supplied router with a Google Nest, but was unable to get it working on the Google Home app. I had factory reset the Nest first (it was previously mine), connected it to the new modem via ethernet and plugged it in. I tried rebooting the modem several times too. I keep getting a "Network is Offline" error on the Home App after scanning the bar code on the new router with the phone. Any ideas?

Hi rxcats,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with setting up your Google Wifi. Since you reset your Google Wifi device, you would also need to reset the network on the Google Home app. Here's how:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Wi-Fi  > Settings > Factory reset network > OK.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Edward
