Hi -- I'm not even sure I chose the right "labels" (above). Here's the deal. I have had several google home nests in my house for years, set up by someone else. Today I was trying to connect my iPad to my online tv service, only to find out from FIOS that they need to to reset to factory settings the router. They could see that the router name I have does not match the router system I am connected to. I guess Google Home has it's own name for the router, though it still works. But whatever. What I'm wondering is -- can I just change the router name in Google home to match the router? And if so, am I right that I'd need to go to each nest and do that? I'm wondering if that will solve the issue with my iPad. OR, if FIOS resets to factory settings, how will that affect my Google Home setup?
Thanks in advance,
Ann

Okay soooo lots of possibilities here,
Bottom line, if they factory reset your router, if you setup again with the same network name (SSID) and password, then a quick power cycle of devices SHOULD still work. Saying this, if they changes your security settings or anything (WPA -> WPA2 or something along those lines) then you would need to re setup all the wireless connections.

Hi AnnKittr,
I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above? If yes, how is it? What Google Home/Nest devices do you have? Are you also talking about a Google WiFi router or Nest WiFi router?
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Dan
