Static IP Address, no longer able to resolve hostname

I have an issue, with static IP addresses on my Google Nest router.

When a device is on DHCP - I can ping google.com

If I add this same device with a reserved IP Address - I cannot ping (resolve) google.com

I can switch between DHCP and Reserved IP - the issue is only present when a reserved IP address is used.  So I know this is the source of my problem.  But I don't suppose I've anyway around it.

Any ideas?

Or it this just a limitation/bug with Google Nest Wifi?

(Yep, I've tried rebooting, and yep, i'm on the latest firmware.)

What ip settings are you getting with the dhcp reservation.

Sounds like the DNS isn't correct.

Can you post your basic IP settings and try to ping via the ip as well as the domain name?
