I am stuck at "Adding Wifi point to your Wi-Fi network" in the google home app while trying to add a new wifi point. I have tried to reset my network, reset my google wifi router, reset the wifi point, uninstall and reinstall google home and nothing seems to work. I have two wifi points and neither of them seem to work.

I encounter same issue... 😞

I am having the same issue. I've reset the router and the 2 nodes (entire network), deleted the location in the Home app, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the Home app. Nothing seems to help.

I solved this issue. Simply use iOS google home app, not android google home.

This worked for me (using iOS). I had to completely reset my network, including the router--just setting up the additional wifi points didn't work initially. Once I reset the whole thing, the iOS app worked perfectly for the router AND the other 2 points and created the mesh network, PERFECT. Thanks so much!

Same issue. Bought this a couple days ago, and nothing on getting the Access point set up.
Don't have an iphone to try or I would. frustrating!

I just got mine to connect!
After reading @satoshi55d comment about using ios, I thought that maybe it's the version of google home.
I found an old phone hoping it would have google home on it, it didn't.
So I was desperate, and went and downloaded an old version of Google home and installed it on my old phone. and was able to add the AP!!!

So does this mean Google Home has an update breaking it's compatibility with the earlier gen Google Nest Wifi devices?

that's what it feels like to me. if it worked in ios and not in my app. so I decided to try an old version and it worked. I had been trying for days. it worked very quickly when I used an old version. I know downloading an apk from elsewhere isn't best practice, but didn't plan to keep using it. just to see if I could attach the AP.

I downloaded March 2024 g home apk, from up to download. That worked. I agree it was my the safest way to solve this problem.

glad that worked for you too. Now they just have to fix the current app

This was the thread I was looking for! Been dealing with this for days. For me it started when my internet kept dropping out everyday after no issues for years. I factory reset everything, created a new Home in Google, updated both phones and could never resolve the 'adding wifi point to your wifi network' this would run for 20 min with no change. I don't have ios but tried downloading the old apk as mentioned and whilst the points appeared in the network when I ran a mesh test it would say could not correct to router.
Any other advice from anyone?

Thanks for posting! Thanks for people responding! Thank you thank you thank you
YES! I just used an (old) ipad (that wouldn't let me download the latest Home app) and I finally got my nest point connected! (I had turned wifi off on my att fiber router, unplugged all other devices, and used the latest android app on many generations of android, all to no avail. )
5 minutes with my old ipad and I'm up and running! Thanks!
(I had called into google for help last week to no avail, and I almost never call human support. I wish that my google searches found this thread. I wish Gemini and ChatGPT had put this thread into their artificial brains.)
Google, shame on you! Your own app on your own ecosystem can't configure your own product?! I have to use an old apple device? Makes me question my strong allegiance to the android ecosystem!

But how do you reinstall an old version of the app?
Sorry I'm in the dark ages

If you download the apk, then uninstall the home app.
Then click on the apk you downloaded
