Suddenly unable to connect to Nest Wifi

BPMurphy

Suddenly my PC - Windows 11 Home - can no longer connect to the Nest Wifi Pro connected to a AT&T . I get the, "Can't connect to this wifi" message for either the 5g or 2.4g. If I shut off the Nest Pro and enable the AT&T fiber Gateway 5g and 2.4g, which I had turned off when connected to the Nest Pro, then my PC connects without any issues.

Hi BPMurphy,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry you're experiencing a "Can't connect to this Wi-Fi" error while trying to reconnect your computer to your Nest Wifi Pro. I appreciate you already testing your Wi-Fi network, that information is helpful. I'd be happy to assist you further with this!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • When did the issue start exactly?
  • Do you use a modem and router combo?
  • Have you made any recent changes to the Nest Wifi Pro's settings?
  • Are other devices (phones, tablets, other computers) able to connect to the Nest Wifi Pro?
  • What's the status LED light on your Nest Wifi Pro?
  • What type of mobile device do you have?

In the meantime, let's check a few tips:

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany

  • When did the issue start exactly?
  • I can’t really say because I rarely use the wifi as I connect to the AT&T Gateway via Ethernet. I probably haven’t used it in a month.
  • Do you use a modem and router combo?
  • I only use the Gateway and Google Nest. One Nest is connected to the Gateway via Ethernet and only the Nest transmits the Wi-Fi.
  • Have you made any recent changes to the Nest Wifi Pro's?
  • No changes have been made.
  • Are other devices (phones, tablets, other computers) able to connect to the Nest Wifi Pro?
  • No problem connecting any of my phones or tablets. And, my PC connects via Wi-Fi through my phone when I enable the phone’s hotspot so it’s not a hardware issue with my PC.
  • What's the status LED light on your Nest Wifi Pro?
  • Normal steady white.
  • What type of mobile device do you have?
  • I have an Android and an iPad, my wife has an iPhone and a laptop. All connect without issues.

Hi BPMurphy,

Thanks for the follow-up information.

Please follow these steps:

  • Forget and rejoin the Wi-Fi network on your Android device:
  1. Go to your device Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi
  2. Locate the network's name (SSID) > Select Forget This Network.
  3. Tap on the name of the network and enter in required credentials to reconnect.
  • Reboot your computer: This can often resolve minor glitches.
  • Check for paused devices:
  1. Paused devices should be listed at the top of the Google Home app.
  2. If a device is paused, it won’t be listed in Paused devices.
  3. If a device is unpaused on this screen, it should move to the top of the Devices list.
  4. The Paused section should always be in an empty state.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Melany
