How has google not fixed this. How they can make a mesh router that can not connect to most home devices is beyond me. Are these the same people that sell nest display etc. designed to control those very devices. I had to return mine. Att recommended my sister buy one and I had to tell her no. I bought the TP-Link Deco which allows you to turn off 5Ghz while you set up these devices. I have Alphabet stock and it is infuriating that I can’t buy their product.

Hey, Boomer.
The Google WiFi and Nest WiFi devices don't need to have their 5GHz bands disabled for devices that require 2.4GHz. Unlike many other routers that only run one at a time (or essentially create two separate networks), the Google and Nest lines run both bands simultaneously and allow devices to connect to the band that is best for them. You can see a full explanation of that here: https://bit.ly/3ahyJE1
I'm sorry if you have had any issues setting devices up on your WiFi network. I would have been happy to help you sort that out, but it looks as if you've returned your products. In the future, if you have a Google or Nest WiFi setup and need any help, please feel free to return. As we have this answered, I'm going to go ahead and close up the thread, but as always, if there's more you need feel free to open up a new discussion.
Thanks.
