Unable to unpause devices

simonc
Community Member

Since the last update of the Google home app, i’m unable to unpause devices in Nest  WIFI. When I try to pause, it pauses the device but it Keep the label beside as pause instead of switching to unpause. Since this, I lost the connexion on my device without the possibility to restore  it. Anyone had the same issue?

I was able to fix mine by performing a manual network restart within the app. A physical reset from the app did not work for me but making the device reset through the app worked.

1.) Open Google Home

2.) Select Wifi

3.) Select Primary Network Options (the little gear in the upper right)

4.) Scroll to the very bottom and select Restart Network

It took < 5 minutes for the wifi to cycle back on, and all my paused devices showed up with the option to unpause.

I contacted the support today. We ran couple of tests without success. I was suggested to factory reset my network to gain access back to my devices. I did this for the moment with success. I’m guessing an update to the app will eventually solve the problem.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out and I', sorry to hear that you're having an issue with unpausing your devices. @simonc, were you able to unpause the devices after doing the factory reset?

Thanks,

Edward

Hi Edward

I am facing similar issue. I paused a device earlier today however its not showing as paused while the device has not been working since. I have tried restarting the network multiple times however that has not helped.

The device is not connecting to the network and continues to show as active in the home app.

I had the same issue. My only option was to do a factory reset of my network. By keeping the same SSID and password, most of my devices if not all, connected back after the reset.

I have done the steps shared above however the device is still not able to connect. When will this issue within the app be resolved?

Hi amalikx,

Thanks for the response. I'm sorry to hear that you're still having this issue. To isolate the issue, could you try forgetting the network on your device and connecting again?

Thanks,

Edward

Forgetting the network also did not work. I’m assuming the mac address is blocked/paused within the nest wifi system. The app continues to show the device as active, while it won’t pause and then unpause.

Hi. I didn’t try pausing thé device again since there is no other option thanw reset the network again. I’ll wait for an app update before trying anything else. The network restart didn’t work on my end.

I too am stuck with no resolution after doing each of the recommended solutions on this thread.

Same issue, I have a tablet and two Google minis that can no longer connect. Reset network didn't help.

Hi all

Found a solution. Use the Google wifi app. Look in Family wifi. You will see X devices paused. You will not be able to unpause here. But on the top right, click on the 3 dots, and select "End Pause On All". And then everything unlocks itself. 🙂

Definitely needs a fix google.
