Wifi loses connection

Jonas-s
Community Member

Hi,

I have a google nest 6e that keeps loosing the connect(light flashing slowly orange).

inhabe tried to use the restart network from the app(when it can find the units), unplugging all cables and power leaving them out for a couple of minutes, and nothing help.

the network starts up fine, but after a few minutes it loses the connection again.

one thing is worth mentioning, and that is that it seems there is some kind of connection, but very very slow, and devices connected does not always loss their connection.

The WiFi from the host router(not sure that is the right word) works fine.

This issue stated some days ago but before that, it has run smoothly for more then half a year.

any help?

Hi @Jonas-s,

Thank you for reaching out to the community and the detailed information. I’m sorry to hear that your Google Nest 6e is losing the connection constantly. Let me help you to solve this.

I would like to ask you some questions to gather more information about the case and look for the best solution possible:

  • Do you use a modem and router combo?
  • When the network starts up properly, the router's light remains orange until it turns white.
  • Does your modem have an internet connection?
  • Were there any recent power outages in your area?

In the meantime, please let’s change your DNS servers and see if that improves your connection.

  • Open the Home app.
  • Tap Wi-Fi and then Settings and then Advanced Networking.
  • Tap DNS.
  • Select Custom, then enter "8.8.8.8" and "8.8.4.4.".
  • Tap Save.

I will be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

Lusvin.
