I have the mesh system and use Chromecasts on every TV. The WiFi at the modem is reading 900+, on iPhones it pulls 170-280 consistently while on the wifi network. The problem is, within a minute of turning on the tv connected to one specific Chromecast, speeds drop to less than 10 (yes, 10!) to the point where any tv in the house will buffer constantly. The speed issue has always been a problem but not to this extreme, and randomly running speed tests on different devices at different times, I have isolated the slow speeds to when, and only when, the primary Chromecast and tv are on.
The environment is, Mediacom Xtreme for ISP, using a Surfboard modem/router that I purchased separately. Samsung smart tv with the wifi disabled because we use the wifi from the Chromecast hooked up to it. I have the Denon HEOS sound bar which is connected with an optic cable. It does transmit via wifi to other speakers throughout the house.
Does anyone have any suggestions to try?
