google Wifi Pro is terrible product with lot of issues , Why google not fixing it

Last firmware was November 2022, hoping firmware update will drop any day now, I am expecting Google to release firmware update each quarter.

Hey folks,

 

Thanks for posting — let's see what's going on.
 

A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? How many devices are dropping from the network? Also, do you have any paused devices?

 

Give these steps a try:
 

  • If you're using a modem/router combo, set that to bridge mode to avoid double NAT issues.
  • Make sure that there is minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.) and the points are no more than two rooms apart.
  • Remove any special characters in your network name and password.
  • Turn off IPv6.
  • Change your DNS server into 8.8.8.8 on the primary and 8.8.4.4 on the secondary server. Hit the save/ floppy disk icon on the upper right.
  • Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.
  • If the issue persists, try factory resetting your network. Take note that this will delete all network data.

First thing I never did any of these steps with my previous routers .I never expected google will release such a bad product 

 I did all those steps on couple of laptop and next work improved from 10 mbps to 200 to 300 mbps. 

I have 5 streaming devices that are slow when i stream videos. I have IGBps cable connection

Hey again haiyalaman,

 

Give these steps a try:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Wi-Fi > Settings > Preferred activities.
  • Uncheck all the options in the page.
  • After that, restart your entire network.

To restart your network:

  • Open the Google Home app .
  • Tap Wi-Fi > Settings > Restart network.
