google nest wont give me the 5g wifi speeds, only the 2.4ghz speed. why?

when i connect to my google nest wifi it is only giving me the speed i get when i connect to my ISP 2.4ghz wifi and not the speed that i get when connecting to my ISP 5ghz wifi. How can i fix this so i get the faster speed on my google nest?

2.4 ghz is for longer range - cameras 

5.0 ghz is for closer range - phones/computers

your confusing speed vs the freq they are operate on.  the speed is what ever you have paid for via your internet provider.  the Free is the band they are talking on 2.4 has more local interference than 5g, but the bandwidth speed is almost all the same...
