iPhone disconnecting Nest from TV

JacquiPax

I use an iPhone, my hubby a Samsung. We have a Google Nest connected to our TVs. We are at war. Please help.
Whenever I mirror my iPhone to one of the TVs he can no longer cast his Samsung. Hubby thinks my iPhone connecting to the TV somehow disconnects and then blocks the G. Nest.

He has  reset one TV to factory settings and reconnected the G. Nest and can cast again. But he doesn’t want me to mirror as he says it will disconnect the Nest again. Is this correct?  If so, is there another way for me to stream my iPhone to the TV?

Hi, @JacquiPax!

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that you're experiencing difficulty casting to your TV from your husband's phone after casting from your own phone, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'm here to help!

I appreciate your husband taking the time to reset the TV to its default settings. To better assist you, could you please provide the following information:

  • Do you have a Chromecast connected to your TV? If so, what Chromecast model do you have?

In the meantime, please check the following:

  • Ensure both your casting device (phone or tablet) and the Google streaming device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Make sure your casting device (phone or tablet) has the latest version of the Google Play Movies & TV or Google TV app installed.
  • Try playing a movie on your phone using the Google Play Movies & TV or Google TV app. If this works, the issue might be specific to the app.
  • Cast from another app using a different casting device (a different phone or tablet than yours and your husband's)

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana
