My google mesh router is connected to my Netgear CAX80 router/modem via ethernet cable.  I use xfinity as my internet provider and I own the router/modem.

When I run a mesh test it tells me my router has a poor connection?  I do not understand this.  Appreciate any help.  Brian

Hi @MChang,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I’m sorry to hear about the connectivity issues between your Google Router and your Netgear CAX80 modem. I appreciate you already running a mesh test to troubleshoot, and I'm happy to help you get this resolved.

If your WiFi point has a weak mesh connection, try moving it closer to your primary router or Google Wi-Fi point. For the best performance, keep them within two rooms of each other and ensure the signal isn't being blocked by heavy furniture or thick walls.

To improve your mesh connection, please follow these steps:

  • Open the Google Home app and tap the WiFi icon.

  • Go to Network settings, then select Advanced networking.

  • Locate Cloud Services and Wifi Usage; toggle both settings off, then back on again.

  • Force close the Google Home app.

  • Reopen the app and retest your mesh connection.

Keep in mind that improving a "weak" connection sometimes requires moving to a different point, even if that one is performing well, to create a better bridge for the signal.

Feel free to keep posting if you have more questions.
