When I first installed the nest wifi router a few years ago I could use it in my backyard with a strong signal, in the last few months I can no longer get a consistent signal when I'm outside.

Hi, Tobias Grazini.

Thanks for posting to the community with your question about your network range. I know it can be confusing when things change up on you. I'll be happy to help you figure this out.

You mentioned that you set this network up a while back. I do have some questions.

  • Have you added any other devices to your network over the years?
  • Have you moved any of your WiFi points since setting it up?
  • Have any other networks shown up in your area (from neighbors or public networks)?
  • Do certain devices seem to connect better than others?

There are a few reasons why you might be seeing differing results. If you're using a different mobile device, it's possible that it uses a different band than a previous device and that it might not be as sensitive or it might have a lower range. If you could let me know what, if anything, has changed since you noticed a difference, I can help you figure this out. Thanks.

Thanks
