2x Google Home Mini and 1x Nest Mini in same speaker group but music won't play on the Home Mini

I have 2x Google Home Mini and 1x Nest Mini on the same network and in the same speaker group. When I play music on the speaker group, it only plays on the 2x Google Home Mini and will not play on the Nest Mini.

All speakers work independently, and I have tried hard resetting all three devices and deleting and re-adding the speaker group.

They have previously all worked together, I'm not sure what has changed!!

Hi sammi22,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about your speaker group concern. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. When did it begin? Were there any recent changes made? You can create a new home and move your devices there, then observe if you will get a different experience. Check out the steps below on how to create a new home and how to move your devices:

Create a home

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Settings Settings and then Add Add.
  3. Select Home.
  4. Follow the on screen steps.

Tip:You can have up to 5 homes in your account.

Move a device to a different home

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. If you have more than one home, tap Favorites .

At the top, select the home you want to edit.

  1. Tap Favorites or Devices and then Touch and hold your device's tile.
  2. Tap Settings Settings and then Device information and then Home.
    • If Device information isn't an option, tap Home.
  3. Tap the home you want to move the device to and then Next and then Move device.
  4. If asked, tap the room you want to move the device to and then Next.

Some devices can be moved to a different home this way:

  • Speakers, displays, and Chromecast can be moved.
  • Some Nest and Wifi devices can't be moved to a different home.
  • If you move a Charging Speaker Dock to another home, you need to move your Google Pixel Tablet to that home too.

Tip: If you have a device that can't be moved to a different home, you need to factory reset your device and set it up again in a new home.

Regards,

Juni
