Accessing Google Fit Data Through Internet

shdawson
Community Member

Hi,

Doing a cross-site post here.

https://support.google.com/fit/thread/212867239?hl=en&sjid=14228660986602970573-NA

Purchased the Google Nest Hub 2nd Generation. Trying out the Sleep Sensing feature.

The inability to share the captured data with my physician negates the valve of the purchase for me. Downloading the data for a doctor to build a report is also not an option.

Is there an option to either share or render the data captured by the hub through a web page?

Hello shdawson,

Good question! The ability to download the sleep sensing history from the Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) is an excellent feature but not available. We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

Meanwhile, you can export up to 31 days of your recent Fitbit data, or an archive of your Fitbit data for the lifetime of your account. Follow the steps below or visit this link for more information.

  1. From the https://goo.gle/3LzDpHA dashboard, click the gear icon.
  2. Click Settings > Data Export.
  3. Choose the time period and data you want to include, and the file format.
  4. Click Download.

Let us know if you have additional questions about your Nest Hub (2nd gen), otherwise, I'll close the thread after 24 hours.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hey shdawson,

Got it! My apologies, you can only have an account and access to Fitbit data if you have the Fitbit device.

OK, thanks for the response.

So, Google has sold a hub with no way to get the data from the feature of sleep sensing unless I also purchase a Fitbit device.

This combination is sham marketing.

Hi shdawson,

Sorry for the confusion. You can always check your sleep summary and receive personal insights and helpful tips on your Nest Hub (2nd gen). Once you set up Sleep Sensing, a sleep summary becomes available on your Nest display the next day. It's just that, you cannot access it on a website or download the data from your Nest display. To check the sleep summary, tap the display’s screen > Wellness > Your sleep.

To learn more about Sleep Sensing on Google Nest Hub (2nd gen), please visit this link.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Muddi

Thanks.

I cannot see paying a Fitbit service for this data next year when I cannot share it with my physician ever. Google has a flawed business plan with this Sleep Sensing offering. The simplest thing for them to do is get the data viewable online instead of only in the Google Fit app. The credibility of the AASM oversight is invalid if a physician cannot review the data.

Hey shdawson,

We appreciate your feedback. Currently, the best thing to do is to send feedback about the features that you're looking forward to using in your Nest Hub (2nd gen).  We know this is not the best answer that you're looking for, but let us know if you still have other questions otherwise, I'll be locking this after 24 hours.

Cheers,

Muddi

Thanks for the reply.

I am not a current Fitbit user. Are you saying I must open a Fitbit account to access my sleep sensing data?
