Activating a Google Nest Hub

What are the steps to activate a brand new, just out of the box, Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) from the Google Home app on my Pixel 6 phone? 

One would think Google would make it really easy for an Android mobile phone user, especially Google's own Pixel, to set up the Nest Hub - but, that's not the case. 

I've hit a dead end because the Google Home app points me to a Help Center website to activate the Nest Hub. However, that site asks me to use a non-Pixel phone for set up?!!

Has anyone else dealt with this set up issue?

Thanks for your response, and checking-in.  

No, the steps recommended in the link that David has shared above did NOT work when I tried it with my Pixel 6 phone.  

I resorted to using an old OnePlus 8 Android phone to activate the Nest Hub.

My phone model: Pixel 6 Pro, Android 12. 

These instructions worked for me on the first attempt:

Are you running a firewall, VPN, or other security software on your phone?  If so, disable it during the setup process. If not, factory reset the Pixel and Hub.

Hey Ajith,

 

Thanks for the information. I'm happy to hear that you are able to set up your Nest Hub now. Possible that there's just some settings on your Pixel phone that need to be changed.  It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.
