Add Multiple Spotify Accounts

Can someone explain the exact steps to set up Voice Match so my kids can listen to their own Spotify accounts of each of their speakers? When one on my kids is playing a song on their speaker and another kids tries to play a song on their speaker it stops the other speaker from playing. We can’t figure out how to add two different Spotify accounts to two different Google Accounts

Hi HCG,

Thanks for posting.

I just wanted to make things clear — do you want to know how to set up Voice Match or add a spotify account to Google Home? We can start with Voice Match and move forward from there. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Home and then Settings and then Google Assistant and then Voice Match and then Other devices.
    • If you have more than one home, tap the home you want to add Voice Match to.
  3. Tap Get started and then follow the in-app steps.
    • Note: To turn on Voice Match automatically for new devices in the same home, turn on “Automatically enable on future devices.

For more information about Voice Match, see this link: Voice Match and media on shared Google Nest or Home devices

Keep us posted.

Best,

Dan

Thanks for replying to this post but it still doesn’t explain the actual steps needed. My two kids have their own premium  Spotify accounts with their own usernames and passwords.  These both need to be entered into the Google Home app. However the last one entered seems to override the first one and therefore my kids cannot listen to the own music on their own devices simultaneously.

Hey Gyo71,

To confirm, are your kids accounts linked to the Google Home app? Are they using a child or regular account? If they are using a regular Gmail account, you can follow the steps on this link to invite them to your home so they can set up their own Spotify account.

Hope this helps.

Hi. My kids have regular gmail accounts and are already added to my Google Home. What isn’t clear to me (or many other users according to similar posts) are the actual steps for using Voice Match to add one Spotify account (kid #1) and use Voice March again to add another Spotify account (kid #2). The process I have done seems to link both kids voices to the same Spotify account so they cannot listen to different music independently

Hi Gyo71,

We just wanted to clarify that both your kids' Gmail accounts should show as household members in your Home in the Google Home app. To confirm, open the Google Home app > Settings. At the top, you should see their accounts under your home name.

Once confirmed, using their own phone/tablet, open the Google Home app > Make sure it is logged in on the same email listed in your Home > Settings > Google Assistant > Voice match > Teach your assistant your voice.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,
Alex
