Added a new Google Mini speaker to my existing Google Home setup.

New Google “Gen 2“ mini doesn’t respond the device names, in my google home app, it only responds to the turn on “devices” and it does turn all 4 devices on in the specific room that it is located in. My other existing Google “Gen 1” minis will easily control any device on any room.

Will the Gen 2 mini co-exist the Gen 1

How do I get my new Gen 2 google mini to recognize the names of each of the devices in its room and in other rooms by their name in my Google home app?

 Thanks!!

Scott

Hi @smckeejr,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Mini 2Gen doesn't recognize the names of your Nest devices. I'm happy to help!

To better assist you, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • Did you get an error message?
  • What type of command are you trying to use?
  • Does the Nest Mini appear active or offline?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Google Home App Version: Ensure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app.
  • Network Connectivity: A stable and strong Wi-Fi connection is essential for proper communication between devices and the app.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany
