Speaker Groups no longer working - Again!

M5DAL
Community Member

Over the last few days, mid-August 24, speaker groups I have on my Google Nest speakers no longer work. They were fine until 3 days ago. I created a new group, and it does not work either. Both speakers rebooted to see if that was the issue

When I say play XWZ on "speaker Group," the command back says, "I don't understand". Last week, it did.

Equally, multiple commands at the same time used to work, but do not now. e.g "Play xyz radion station for 1 hour" now does not work and it used to.

Hi M5DAL,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that your speaker group is not working as you expected. Don't worry; I'm here to help! Just to get started, I'd like to confirm some information with you. Can you please help me answer the next questions?

  • What are the firmware versions of the devices in your speaker group?
  • What are the specific models of the devices in your speaker group (Nest Audio, Nest Mini, Google Home, etc.)?

In the meantime, if you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.

They are Google Nest audio units. Google updates them so they have the latest firmware. Last night, the speaker groups worked. This is not the first time this has happened, and updates appear to be causing the issue.
