Adding additional clock or chaging timezone on Nest Hub Display 2nd Gen.

Hi there,

What I would like to do is either have a second clock face showing or change the timezone to UTC on my Nest Hub 2nd Generation. My location is in the Midwest, so by default, I'm in CST/CDT but I do amateur radio and everything in it uses UTC. Is it possible to set the timezone to UTC or have an additional "World Clock" display on the home screen? I understand that I can add a "home" to the location settings, but I'm concerned that will break its connection to the other devices in my house (since they won't be on the new home location).

Thank you and have a great day. 🙂
Patrick.

Hi, Rachel,

I have the clock face set up already. My issue is it is set to central standard time and I want it set to universal time coordinated UTC. Is there a easy way of doing that? And if I have to change the location in the node, will that affect it communicating with other nodes? All of my other nodes would be on my current home location. This one would be on the location somewhere under UTC's time zone.

Hey PatrickDickey,

Thanks for bringing this up! Currently, the only way to change the timezone on your Google Nest Hub is to update the device address. This will not affect the way it controls your smart devices but it may affect your calendar, alarms, and reminders. For more information, please visit this link.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Muddi,

One more question. I have two Nest Hubs and one Google Home Mini. If I change the location on the hub in question, will it affect the reminders, alarms, and calendar items on all devices or just it? If it's just on it, I will turn the notifications off. If it's on all devices, then I hope Google is working on the ability to add extra timezones/world clocks to the hub.

Have a great day. 🙂
Patrick.

Hey PatrickDickey,

If you change the address for device location on the Google Home app - all settings will be applied to your speakers and displays. I know how great it is to be able to add an extra clock with a different timezone on Google Home/Nest device but it isn't available.

We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

Cheers,

Muddi
