I have tried speaking to Google's support chat about this but I am not entirely sure they understood the issue.
I have set up multiple speakers (almost 100 at this point) but have only come across this issue within the last day.
I am setting up nest audio devices (2-3) and then adding them to a group. I am waiting until they've all updated etc before doing so.
Sometimes, a speaker will appear on the setup group page with a different icon (not the little Nest picture with the Google colours, it looks more like a 3rd party speaker like my Sonos). If I try and create a group including any speakers that are appearing with the different icon, it doesn't work. It'll either error entirely or create a group and only add the speakers with the 'correct' Nest Audio icon.
I am pulling my hair out. It has taken me over an hour and a half to try and set up 3 speakers to create a group! I have tried factory resetting the speakers and rebooting them. Sometimes this works, other times not. Happening both on my Pixel 8 pro and Pixelbook devices. I have not used these forums before so not sure if I can add a screenshot or not but happy to include that if I can.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Updating here as this is still an issue. Updated the Google Home app yesterday and thought I was on to a winner but it seems they've made it worse.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason why one speaker will work and another not. As I say, I can reset a speaker that was 'wrong' and it will work immediately after setting it back up again.
I can't be the only one having this issue?
