Adding mesh point after facyor reset

So I have issues with one mesh point being weak. I gave it a factory reset but now I can't re-add to my mesh. I had 3 points and now it's only 2. I see it as a wifi point but when I try to connect it asks for a password and it's not my wifi network password bc I already tried it.

How do I re-add my wifi point? Again,  no it doesn't show up in Home App

Hi Autobadges,

Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay ― let's get this sorted.

A few questions: what device do you have? Check this link to know more: Google Nest Wifi and Google Wifi products. Also, what is the color of the LED light on your point?

Give these steps a try:

  1. Manually factory reset the device using the reset button. Here's how: Factory reset Google Nest Wifi or Google Wifi devices
  2. Add the point to your Home app.
  3. Use another phone or tablet to setup.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Mel

I have the google mesh. I'm adding a point. Point has been deleted factory reset and try to add to home app. It goes thru it all, scans it, finds it but upon thr adding to ur wifi home...says please connect to internet.  I honestly think it's a faulty point now...are these covered with some lifetime warranty?

Hi Autobadges,

Thanks for getting back to us. Do you mean Google Wifi or Google Nest Wifi? Does the point have an Ethernet port on the bottom? If so, try to connect the point to the main point using an Ethernet cable during the setup process.

Best,

Mel

It's the Google mesh wifi. No port as this is a point, not the main router

Hi Autobadges,

Thanks for the update. We need to factory reset the point using the reset button.

Press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the child point. Once it made the dialogue about resetting, wait for the next sound (bell sound) then let go of the reset button. Once the reset is complete after about 5 minutes, the point will make a sound saying, "To get started, download the Google Home app..".

After the reset, try to add it again on your Home app.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Mel

I have already tried to factory reset 5 times.  Same outcome. This was supposed to be escalated to higher level troubleshooting
