Alarms & Timers not working

I have had a Nest Hub mini for years and it was great. I upgraded to the 2nd generation Nest Hub 7" display,  and I can no longer set Reminders Alarms or Timers.

When I say "Hey Google! Set a timer for XXmins" or "set an alarm for xxpm", it replies ...

"Sorry, I wasnt able to set that alarm/timer.  Try again in a few seconds!"

Its really frustrating and I am ready to throw it out. The alarm and timer function was so handy in the kitchen. I have checked many blogs but no one has been able resolve it. I'm hoping Google Nest Community has answers.  Please help.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

 

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you, let me help you out. You can do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest speakers/ displays for 30 seconds, then do the same thing to your Wi-Fi router to refresh both devices and your Wi-Fi signal. Once back on, try the feature again.

Hi Juni,

I got the same message as always, "Sorry, I wasnt able to set that alarm. Try again in a few seconds"

Any other ideas?

Hi there,

 

Thank you for giving it a go. We regret if the problem is still bothering you. Lets restore your Nest Hub 2nd generation to its factory default settings and set it up once more as a new device, you can perform a factory data reset. Then observe if it will make a differnce. Check the instructions below for direction.

 

Here’s how to do the reset,  press and hold the volume up and down button located at the back of your Google Nest Hub together for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting your Google Nest Hub.
