Apple Music is not working with my Google Home devices

I have two Google Home Mini's and a Google Home Speaker.  I recently subscribed to Apple One, but cannot get the Google Home devices to link to Apple Music.

- I am signed in to the Apple Music app on my phone, I can play music through it.

- The Home devices are connected to my network and I can see them in the Google Home app

Steps I have taken.

  1. Open the Google Home app on my iPad.
  2. Go to Settings > Music.
  3. Select the Apple Music service to link the account.
  4. Enter my Apple ID username and password. This appears to work correctly.
  5. The Access Request appears, I Allow.
  6. The Google Home app returns to the view and Apple Music remains un-linked. I get a message "something went wrong, try again".

Any help would be appreciated.

All devices are up to date with software. When I had a subscription to Spotify, I was able to link all 3 devices.  I exchanged messages with someone from Google on this site earlier, and was asked to fill out a form with my email address. I was told the thread would be locked, but someone would email me directly. This was over 3 weeks ago, and I haven't heard from anyone from Google. Does Apple Music just not work on Google Home devices? Please let me know so I don't waste any more time trying to link them.
