Apple Music

Hi, so I’ve been using my google home speaker for a while and it’s been working well. I recently made a new playlist on Apple Music for me and my friends to listen to in the background and for some reason it doesn’t recognise the new playlist. I tried renaming the playlist to an old one and asked it to shuffle that but it would still play the old playlist. It seems like the google home hasn’t recognised that I’ve updated my playlists and just won’t play that. Are there any ways to fix this?

Hi Jp2002,

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, try these steps:

  1. Make sure your music provider accounts are linked to your speaker or display.
  2. If you're not getting the music you expect, be more specific with your request.
    • Add "...by [Artist]" to your request. (Example: "Hey Google, play a song by Sia.")
    • Add "... album, playlists, song" to your request. (Example: "Hey Google, play my morning rock playlist.")
  3. If you want to listen to music that's not from your default service, add "...on [music service]" to your request.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Dan
