Asking to turn on lights no longer makes the noise but instead Google says something back

The Google nests we have used to make a chime noise when asking Google to turn on lights that the nest was in. Now all of a sudden it's saying "Okay. Turning on X things" where x is the number of lights in that room. Anyone know how to go back to the old way with just the chime? It was sooo much better with just the chime noise.

If there is no way to change it I hope Google goes back to the previous way.

Open Google Home app

go to Devices

click on your nest speaker

in the right upper corener, click settings

click Accessibility

and there you can turn on/off the "chime noise".

Hope this helps.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, Sebastian1986.

D_Wielss459, thanks for reaching out and letting us know about controlling your lights concern. If you are trying to control lights using your Google Assistant device from one room to another, you will get a verbal response. On the other hand, if you control lights using your Google Assistant device in the same room, you will get the chime as confirmation. Check out the helpful link below to know more about controlling smart home devices using Google Assistant.

I hope this helps.
